I've wanted a public space and brand to center my works around for some time, and have tried or worked on a series of them, with mixed results. Middling Works was a thing for a little while before it died. Decimole seemed a better idea, and then, like its mole mascot, never dug its way to the surface of the world. I'm sure my colleagues are weary of me planning or creating things and destroying them, almost as much as I am myself. But it seems bound to happen, so here's a brand that acknowledges the fact, Snow Castles. A snow castle is like a sand castle, but more reflective, more ephemeral, and more rare. Earthly things pass, and probably most things done here will pass too, but hopefully it will reflect some light and some beauty while it is here.
Why a forum? Well, I don't want to do just a static site. And I tried the blog thing for a while, but it turns out I'm bad at blogs. I need to actually have people to talk to and bounce things off of to get my thoughts and words flowing. Besides, seeing all those spambots in WordPress gets depressing. So here we are.
It's minimal right now, but if it sticks around it will hopefully grow and expand, maybe get some new wings or levels thrown onto it. And if people besides me start posting, it will probably stick around. It's one thing to delete my own stuff, but I have a harder time getting rid of other people's things.
